Overview of the Rutland County Youth Council

The Rutland County Youth Council is one that is made up of youth in Rutland County between the ages of 9-21 who are interested in helping spread youth voice, build youth-friendly spaces, and shape Rutland into a county that uplifts young people and values their perspective.

The council currently has 19 youth spread out all throughout Rutland County who are motivated in bringing their ideas, as well as their friends and classmates ideas, to the table. These ideas range from youth oriented and led spaces, events and activities aimed at youth and young adults, and education/workforce development opportunities for youth in Rutland County. This council will be working with the Rutland Youth Coalition to help identify where the gaps in opportunities are throughout the county for youth and ultimately bring their ideas to life.

Our goal is to mold Rutland County into a place where youth thrive, grow, and want to stay. This council already has wonderful, big, bright ideas and are so excited to be a part of this change!
